His vocal range rivals the most lyrically capable, and his words strike universal chords amongst all in earshot. As such it’s no surprise this wandering Lancastrian is already being compared with the great and the good of songwriting legend.
That’s despite the fact Jay Stansfield’s debut album is only just approaching its release date. ‘LOVISM’ arrives on July 14th, via White Label Music (run by Ann Shenton of Add N to (X) & Marc Hunter), bringing with it ten original tracks informed by journeyman sounds, folk, acoustic indie, alternative electronic fare, and 60s psychedelia. Which, of course, means references to the likes of Jeff Buckley, Fyfe Dangerfield, and George Harrison, amongst others, make perfect sense.
On the same day the rising star, who hails from Nelson, Lancashire, will open for Mike & The Mechanics, before heading out for his inaugural UK tour to showcase all eight of his octaves. Having supported Dodgy and performed at Sound City Liverpool this year, not to mention clocking up over 25,000 hits on SoundCloud (going on to be crowned Soundclouder of the day), the forthcoming dates are set to build on an already burgeoning fan base as more ears tune in to the enchanting and compelling arrangements Stansfield is fast becoming recognised for.

This truly is an awesome site. I am trying to learn how to compose my own music. I know hardly any notes but the basics. I use my keyboard mostly. If you have a music video, share one with us, please. I'd like to hear what your music sounds like. Lots of Love
